Steamy Saturday

The weather has finally started to cool off down here and we are really enjoying it. However, we had a bit of a heat spell over the weekend and our AC unit decided to die and Kai spiked a fever over 103. The poor kid was burning up and miserable. Once the sun set, we opened all windows and put the big fans in the living room in hopes of a cool down. No such luck. For some reason our apt holds in heat like an oven! The outside temp went down in the upper 40's and our place stayed a toasty 78. With our animals, small living space, and 5 people that is hot! Cali sat with her face in the fan and Andy walked Kai, in the wee hours, outside in just his diaper to keep him cool. They finally replaced the unit today and threw in a free blind for the living room (the dogs had destroyed the old one).

Kai is feeling better today, so he better sleep. We can not operate on 3 hours of sleep and the whining is tearing a hole in my brain. Get well little man...........fast!!!

Turkey Turkey

We really missed being with family this Thanksgiving, but had a really nice feast anyway!  Kai loved everything as usual and also loved feeding his scraps to his best girl, Cali. Peyton was finally feeling well enough to eat a little something, so we were really glad about that. She is starting to bouncing back, but is still not talking much. Perhaps, she is just really pissed at us for making her have the surgery and is refusing to speak to us. We all have very full tummies and are about to go into food comas. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Weekend Highlights

We had a very nice weekend, well me especially since I got to see New Moon! That was my highlight. We took the kids to the park on Saturday where Peyton showed off her climbing skills. That girl will climb anything . There was a 12 year old boy there trying to be all cool and he says to her,"nice skills!"  After that, Andy told her no more climbing on the the playground posts and then told me we need to keep her of those poles!
We spent Sunday at the beach with one of Peyton's best buddies,Olivia, from Frisco. Olivia and her family are in town for the week and it was so fun to see Peyton so happy. It was a cool day and very cloudy, but the kids spent the entire time in the water. Kai had blue lips, yet again, but enjoyed tasting various species of shells and sealife. What are we going to do with him? Here are some pictures.

Hair Everywhere

No, this isn't a dead animal! Andy put his pet grooming to skills to use, yet again, and attempted to give Lulu the lion trim. She only drew blood once and hollered the entire time, but she does look pretty good.  I think it is time I entered Andy in that Americas Best Groomer Show.

She is cold and embarrassed, but mat free.

You are next Chloe!

A Little Animal Play

Peyton and Eliza are budding playwrights. They have their main characters and are now working on the plot. I can't wait to see what they come up with! Should be very interesting and I am sure Kai will be involved somehow. Here is the cast of their animal play.

Sunset on Siesta

We went to Siesta Key late Saturday afternoon and stayed and watched the sunset. The girls had a great time building a big sandcastle with Andy and Kai just wondered around following birds and splashing in the water. His lips were blue the whole time cause it was a bit chilly!

Mr. Smartypants

I just had to post about the fact that Kai is super smart. We have a basket by the front door for our shoes. The girls are now trained to put them in the basket as soon as they fling them off, so they are not strewn about the  apt. After Kai and I got home from dropping Peyton and Eliza at school I took my shoes off and put them in my closet. I started doing the dishes from breakfast and I see Kai walking out of my room with the flip flops I was wearing. I figured he was going to chew on them or throw them somewhere, since he loves to chew on everything and throw anything and everything he gets his hands on. He marched right over to the shoe basket and put them right in there and looked at me as if to say, that is where they go biatch!

Sound Asleep

This is how we found the girls asleep after they watched a scary movie called Coraline! I guess it is meant for older kids or kids that have already grasped the fact that cartoons are not real!
