Eliza lost her first tooth last week! Yay! She was super excited that her tooth came out while she was still 6 and not 7 because Peyton didn't lose her first one until she was 7. Does everything have to be a compitition?
Eliza's tooth fell out and landed on the kitchen floor after she had been munching on an apple. Tears were shed because she thought she had swallowed her tooth and she would get violently ill and die. We assured her that was not the case and I found the tooth resting in a corner on the floor. I had saved the day.
I decided to place the tooth in a baggy where it would be safe until nighttime. Eliza called her daddy, so she could tell him the good news. They chatted and, in the meantime, Kai is given a snack from Nonnie.
Kai finished his snack and Eliza was done talking at the same time. Eliza handed me the phone and I started talking with Andy about the tooth. I headed over to the counter where I had placed the tooth and it was gone. The baggy with the tooth was gone. At that point I hear Nonnie say holy s#@!, I used that baggy to put Kai's snack in.
Seriously?!
Kai handed us the baggy and it was empty. Goldfish and tooth gone! Eliza thought this was hysterical! Apparently, Kai ate the tooth. We searched the floors in case he had thrown it down or spit it out, but didn't find it. I searched his diapers the next day and still no tooth, but I could have missed it. I really didn't comb through the grossness very closly. Nonnie helped Eliza write a nice letter to the Tooth Fairy explaining the what had happened in hopes that she would still still leave a little something under her pillow. The note worked and Eliza woke up the next day with a crisp 1 dollar bill and two shiny quarters!
We are thrilled that we have a memorable story and won't ever forget about the day when Eliza lost her first tooth!
Absolutely hysterical!! I love it!
ReplyDeleteI have read this post over and over again to friends... I love it! So glad Eliza still got a visit from the tooth fairy, and Kai was able to digest his sister's tooth.
