Schools Out

Andy and I were so excited for the girls today! The last day of school was always the best day for Andy and me.  We just knew Peyton and Eliza would be super excited to begin their summer vacation of sun, fun, and later bed times. Boy, was I shocked when they both got into the car at school pick up and burst into tears :( Clearly, they had been holding in their sadness all day and just let it go when they saw me. They cried that they already missed their friends and teachers. Their teachers were very sweet! They have made some wonderful and sweet little friends here and had to say goodbye to them today, probably forever. I can imagine how they must have felt. My heart sank as I told them all would be o.k. and they told me it wouldn't.  I told them I  am sorry we are moving them again, but at least we are going back to familiar territory and friendships. That didn't excite them today.  Once our summer activities start, I know the girls will be happier and their sadness will pass.  Soon enough, their wonderful memories of Willis Elementary will make them smile instead of cry and there will be room in their hearts for new friends and a new school.

  2. Awww... poor things! It is hard. Every year I say goodbye to many children crying. It's a routine for them for 9 months and then it changes so quickly. It's hard for kids, but they are resilient and will be loving summer vacation in NO time!
